Sophia Boivin

Sophia Boivin is Director at La Financière agricole du Québec. She was previously the coordinator of crop protection laws and emergencies at the Ministry of Agriculture for the Government of Quebec. Between 2017 and 2019, she worked as manager of the crop protection division at the Ministry. Since 2009, she has been involved in all issues regarding regulated plant pests at the national and international level that could impact Quebec agriculture. Since 2014, she has coordinated the development and application of Quebec crop protection laws.

Ms. Boivin holds a Bachelor in Agronomy and Crop Science, and a Master’s in Plant Pathology, from Laval University.

She received the medal of agronomic distinction in 2019 for her exceptional contribution to the advancement of agronomy by the Ordre des agronomes du Québec.
