Siri Pettersen Strandenes has been professor at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) since 2002.

Professor Strandenes’ main research areas are maritime economics, economics of air transport, international economics and industrial organization. She has published a number of articles in these areas.

Professor Strandenes is Honorary Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, City University London and Visiting Professor at the Department of Transport and Regional Sciences, University of Antwerp. She has served on a number of boards in public and private institutions, among them DNB (Norway’s largest financial services group), Norges Bank (Central Bank of Norway), Bergshav Shipholding, Norwegian Guarantee Institute for Export Credits (GIEK), Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) and is currently a board member on the Norwegian Hull Club (Marine insurance), and in the Corporate Assembly in Telenor ASA (Telecom).

Professor Strandenes has served on several advisory committees to the Norwegian Government among them on: Anti-Dumping, High Speed Rail in Norway, State Ownership, Competitiveness of the Airline Industry, and Competitiveness of the Norwegian Shipping Industry.
