Emrys Jones

Emrys Jones is currently a Senior Consulting Engineer for Chevron Energy Technology Company.

Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1973), his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1974) and his PhD (1984) from West Virginia University. He began his professional career in 1974 with CONOCO where he conducted research on coal slurry transport and horizontal drilling in underground coal mines. In 1981, he began working at Gulf Oil on natural gas measurement for both custody transfer and allocation where he later became a Section Director. Shortly thereafter in 1985, Dr. Jones joined Chevron through a merger as a Team Leader and conducted research in measurement, hydrates, multiphase flow, computation fluid dynamics, and natural gas technology.

Dr. Jones has served as Chairman of several American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards committees; International Standards Organizations Committees; API Committees and; Gas Research Institute Committees.
