Arash Habibi Lashkari is Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Cybersecurity at the School of Information Technology at York University. Prior to this he was an Associate Professor at faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, and Research Coordinator of the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC). Dr. Lashkari is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has over 23 years of academic and industry experience in cybersecurity.
Dr. Lashkari’s research focuses on cybersecurity, dataset generation, cyberthreat detection, big data security, and internet traffic analysis. He is the author of 11 published books and over 100 academic cybersecurity-related papers, written in both English and Persian.
Dr. Lashkari has been recognized for his outstanding research and teaching experience, with over 15 international computer security awards and the University of New Brunswick’s prestigious Teaching Innovation Award (2020) for his teaching methodology, the Think-Que-cussion Method.
