CCA Board of Governors Notice of Opportunity

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is seeking applicants to fulfill positions for its ministerial nominees on the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) Board of Governors. The CCA’s 12 member Board of Governors is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization, including fulfillment of its mandate and oversight of its operations.

The CCA Board has a unique structure. Four governors are proposed by the federal Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED), and then formally appointed by the Board. Each of its three member academies ― the Royal Society of Canada, Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and Canadian Academy of Engineering ― nominates two governors. These six governors then nominate two additional governors from the general public.

Interested candidates must apply to the following email address:  ic.cca_secretariat‑secretariat_du_cac.ic@canada.ca by October 14th, 2016. Candidates should provide a copy of their curriculum vitae and a cover letter of no more than three pages briefly outlining how they meet the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and personal attributes criteria.
