Board of Directors Opportunity

Join the CCA at a pivotal moment for evidence and public policy in Canada

(Up to two positions)

The CCA is entering an exciting period of evolution. Independent, expert-curated evidence has never been more essential to shaping decisions that influence Canada’s prosperity, resilience, and long-term well-being. We are seeking exceptional leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide the next chapter of this nationally significant organization.

Serving on the CCA Board offers a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise, networks, and strategic insight to an institution widely recognized for its integrity, independence, and ability to illuminate complex policy challenges with clarity and rigour. If you care deeply about the role of evidence in decision-making and want to help strengthen that role for the benefit of Canada we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

About the CCA

The CCA is a trusted voice at the intersection of research, society, and public policy, convening expertise and assessing knowledge to advance evidence-informed decision-making in Canada and internationally.

Through expert-led multidisciplinary assessments that draw on evidence from across sectors and communities, the CCA brings clarity, rigour, and balance to complex policy topics in diverse areas including health, the environment, public safety, innovation, and the economy.

As a not-for-profit charitable organization, the CCA is guided by the principles of independence, excellence, and integrity in all of its work, delivering consistent value to those using CCA reports to inform policy and public debate.

Skills and Expertise Sought

The CCA recruits Directors using a skills-based framework to ensure the Board reflects a wide range of perspectives, experience, and expertise. For this recruitment cycle, we are prioritizing candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Fundraising and Development: We are seeking Directors who can help identify new funding opportunities, cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and assessment sponsors, and contribute to building a sustainable and diversified revenue model.

Senior Government Leadership: We are seeking Directors with senior-level government experience who value the use of credible, unbiased evidence in policy development, understand the current evidence needs of policy makers, and who can help strengthen relationships within and across government.

The CCA is a proud participant in the ISED 50–30 Challenge, and we strongly encourage applications from individuals who identify as members of equity-deserving groups.

An ICD.D or C.Dir. designation is an asset as is competency in both of Canada’s official languages.
