Stewart Beck

Stewart Beck is the former President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF). Before joining APF Canada, Mr. Beck had a three-decades long career in Canada’s foreign service. With postings in the US and Asia, culminating with an assignment as Canada’s High Commissioner to India, he is acknowledged as one of Canada’s experts on Asia and innovation policy. Along the way, he served in many senior foreign policy and trade positions, including as Canada’s most senior trade, investment and innovation official, Consul General to Shanghai and Consul General to San Francisco. Applying his understanding and navigating the challenging geopolitical, economic, and trade environment is the value Mr. Beck brings to strategic conversations on the region.
